Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received a letter on Tuesday from his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, addressing key international issues and the situation in the region.

According to a statement from the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met in Baghdad with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, Mohammad Kazem Al Sadeq.

During the meeting, the Iranian ambassador delivered a written message from Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, conveying Iran’s perspective on major international matters as well as political and security developments in the region.

The statement added that the two sides also discussed the evolving political situation in Iraq following the elections and the steps being taken toward forming a new government in a manner that supports stability and strengthens the political process.
