For his part, the Lebanese Minister of Health, Firas Al-Abyad, confirmed at Beirut Airport that the Iraqi medical assistance at this time is a generous initiative from the State of Iraq, which came after communication between us and the Iraqi government and Ministry of Health, which assured us that Iraq, as a country and a people, stands by Lebanon.

Al-Abyad said, "This donation consists of more than 15 tons of medicines and medical supplies that arrived on the first plane, and we are also expecting more than 70 tons to arrive on another Iraqi plane."

He added that "the Iraqi medical delegation that arrived in Beirut on this flight consists of about 20 doctors and health workers, and the plane is capable of evacuating approximately 30 injured individuals."
