The media office of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani stated that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani received the champion athletes who won various medals and achieved top positions in the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris."

The statement added that "the Prime Minister congratulated the champions who adorned their chests with colorful medals at the Paris Paralympics and raised the Iraqi flag in front of the world. He praised the efforts of the Paralympic Committee, the training staff, and their supportive families," emphasizing the government's commitment to "supporting sports and athletes and overcoming all obstacles. He announced that the Paris Paralympics heroes would be honored with a monthly grant and a piece of land, according to Law No. 6 of 2013."

According to the statement, al-Sudani also highlighted "the recent reception of gold medalist Naglaa Imad, whose story goes beyond a gold medal. It represents a symbol of sacrifice, courage, and the determination of the Iraqi woman. She excelled and became a world champion despite losing her limbs in a terrorist attack, becoming a global sensation while the terrorist was consigned to the dustbin of history." He affirmed that "her story, along with those of other heroes, deserves to be included in school curricula, as they all involve heroic acts and sacrifices."
