The spokesperson for the Syrian Ministry of Interior, Nour Al-Din Al-Baba, denied reports claiming that Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara had been targeted. He confirmed that the news was merely rumors accompanied by forged statements, urging the public to rely solely on official sources.

On Monday, Al-Baba reiterated that the circulating reports about an alleged attack on President Al-Shara were false. In a statement, he said, “These rumors were accompanied by fabricated statements falsely attributed to official entities with the aim of misleading public opinion. The ministry categorically denies these claims.”

He called on citizens and media outlets to “verify information and not be misled by fabricated news,” emphasizing the “need to rely exclusively on trusted official sources for news and developments.”

Some media outlets and social media platforms had circulated reports since yesterday alleging that President Ahmad Al-Shara had been injured in an attack.
