Rubio Hints: Cuba Could Be Next After Maduro’s Ouster in Venezuela.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has hinted that Cuba might be the next target following the ousting of Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela. He stated that Cuban officials might be feeling uneasy in the wake of the military operation. The United States has a long history of interventions in Latin America.

Rubio suggested that Cuba could be the next focus of President Donald Trump’s administration’s efforts to reassert American dominance in the Western Hemisphere. He remarked that if he were a Cuban government official, he would be “at least a little concerned” following the U.S. military operation in Venezuela, which led to the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.

Rubio, who has long held a keen interest in both Venezuela and Cuba, said:

“If I were living in Havana and part of the government, I’d be at least a little worried.”

The United States has a long history of military interventions in Latin America, including its tacit support for the failed 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion, which was led by Cuban exiles aiming to overthrow Fidel Castro.
