The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday condemned the U.S. attack on Venezuela, describing it as a violation of peace and a threat to the international system.
In an official statement, the ministry said, “We strongly condemn the U.S. attack on Venezuela and consider it a blatant violation of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.” The statement added that “the military aggression against Venezuela constitutes a clear breach of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law.”
It further emphasized that “the U.S. assault on an independent and UN member state is a violation of peace and security, with consequences that threaten the international order,” affirming Venezuela’s right to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its people’s right to self-determination.
