Following a series of explosions that rocked the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, and other regions, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States had “carried out a large-scale strike against Venezuela and its leader.”
In a post on his Truth Social account on Saturday, Trump stated that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife had been captured and flown out of the country. He added that the operation was conducted in coordination with U.S. law enforcement agencies.
Trump also noted that full details of the operation would be released later and that he would hold a press conference at the Mar-a-Lago resort⁽¹⁾⁽²⁾⁽³⁾.
