Bafel Jalal Talabani the president of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan delivered an important message as the election campaigns for the Kurdistan Parliament kicked off.

In his message, he emphasized the significance of these elections, stating that they are not like previous ones and that every vote will count. He pointed out that there are two parties affecting people's lives—one that has been tried over the years, with its prime minister and key ministries. He urged citizens to reflect on their satisfaction with this party, asking whether it has adequately defended their rights and protected Kurdistan's land, which has seen great sacrifices.

He highlighted the current insecurity, noting that drones from various countries fly overhead while citizens and youth are killed without any response from the ruling party, which focuses on its own interests rather than the needs of the people. He criticized the party's control over salary distribution, calling it a disgraceful situation for citizens.

Talabani reminisced about when Kurdistan was respected internationally, with a different judiciary and a government that allowed citizens to express their opinions freely. He lamented the current environment where individuals can be arrested for minor social media comments.

He called on voters to make a change on October 20 by supporting the party that can correct Kurdistan's path and improve living standards. Acknowledging that the Patriotic Union has faced challenges, he insisted that it is now strong and unified, committed to serving all regions without discrimination.

He urged voters to support those who fulfill their promises, recounting achievements like electoral law reforms and environmental projects in Kirkuk. He expressed solidarity with party cadres, families of martyrs, people with disabilities, political prisoners, and the heroic Peshmerga, asserting that the Patriotic Union is a strong, unified force against the enemies of Kurdistan.

Talabani concluded by declaring that the Patriotic Union is dedicated to serving the people and is the only party capable of correcting the mistakes of governance.
