the Prophet Abraham Church in Dhi Qar

The director of the "Prophet Abraham" Church construction project in Dhi Qar, Taleb Dawood, announced that the project has been completed at 100%, expecting the province to receive two million tourists annually from Iraq and various countries around the world.

Dawood noted that the project began in 2022 at a cost of two million dollars, donated by Iraqi businessman Father Dr. Fattouh Boutros Qatlma. He mentioned that the church is fully equipped and is now awaiting its official opening at the end of this year.

Dawood explained that the church's design is inspired by Iraq's ancient civilizations, featuring gardens reminiscent of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and resembling a fortress surrounded by a great wall, with symbols representing Islamic and Christian history.

The project director anticipates that this church will stimulate tourism in Dhi Qar, positively impacting the local economy through the establishment of tourism companies, hotels, and restaurants.

Additionally, the infrastructure for the adjacent tourist city has been completed, including two theaters and two restaurants, with plans to create more service facilities.
