The National Security Agency announced today, Tuesday, the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle contraband during a confrontation with the relatives of an inmate attempting to introduce narcotics. Those involved were apprehended.
The agency added in a statement that the total results of these operations included the confiscation of 653 phones and 330 SIM cards found with inmates inside the prisons.
It also noted that nine cases of extortion and violations by staff were recorded, with all seized items referred to the relevant authorities for necessary action.
