granting free visas to Lebanese citizens arriving at Iraqi border crossings

Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani has directed the extension of entry permits for Lebanese citizens currently in Iraq and the exemption of violators from penalties.

According to a statement from his media office, given the difficult circumstances faced by the Lebanese people, who have recently been subjected to criminal Israeli aggression, and in solidarity and support from Iraq—both government and people—the Prime Minister, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, issued the following directives:

1. Extend the entry permits for Lebanese citizens present in Iraq for an additional thirty days without the need to travel, with the possibility of further extension, based on the provisions of the Foreigners Residency Law No. 76 of 2017, due to the severe conditions Lebanon is experiencing.

2. Exempt current Lebanese citizens who are in violation of the law from the penalties stipulated in the aforementioned law.

3. Continue granting free entry permits to Lebanese citizens arriving at Iraqi border crossings.
