Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani has removed the Director of Iraqi Airways from his position following the confusion that occurred at Baghdad International Airport a few days ago.
The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a statement that, "In implementation of al-Sudani's instructions to form an investigative committee to follow up on and uncover the causes of the confusion affecting Iraqi Airways flights in recent days, the committee has completed its work and submitted its recommendations to the Minister of Transport, including the recommendation to relieve the Director General of Iraqi Airways from his duties. The Minister has endorsed these recommendations."
The statement continued: "On this occasion, we reiterate the Prime Minister's previous directives to service departments to provide the highest levels of service to citizens and not to neglect any area that impacts the general needs of our Iraqi people. Al-Sudani emphasized that there should be no leniency towards any shortcomings or negligence that could negatively affect the reputation of other state institutions, which are striving to improve their work and contributions in various fields."
