Justice Minister Khaled Shwani said on Wednesday that the fight against corruption is a collective responsibility that is not complete without the participation of all segments of society, indicating that the government curriculum has placed the fight against financial and administrative corruption among its priorities.

Shwani also said at a conference on the human rights-based approach to anti-corruption efforts attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Commission for Rights in Integrity is one of the most important bodies that aim to ensure and protect human rights, especially the economic rights of citizens," pointing out that "the government curriculum headed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani put the fight against financial and administrative corruption among its priorities in all sectors, so it was interested in strengthening the role of institutions controlling public funds and human rights."

He added that "these steps come from the Iraqi government's conviction that the fight against corruption is a collective responsibility that is not complete without the participation of all segments of society and the support of national and international bodies by raising awareness in combating corruption, spreading the values of transparency and mitigating the impact of corruption," pointing to "coordination with the Ministries of Education and Higher Education to include curricula related to human rights and anti-corruption."

He  further added that "the Human Rights Commission has given an important aspect in its programs to hard work sincerely and honestly, and to provide advice and express an opinion on national legislation," stressing "the principle of the state's commitment to its three powers to implement Iraq's obligations before the committees concerned with the international convention to which Iraq has acceded."

Shwani concluded by saying: "The Commission has been keen on national, regional and international cooperation with the UN bodies operating in Iraq, such as the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and all its affiliated bodies."
