United States Rejects UN Resolution Supporting Ukraine.

Reuters reported on Thursday, citing three diplomatic sources, that the United States refuses to participate in adopting a draft resolution in the United Nations on the third anniversary of the beginning of the Russian attack on Ukraine. The resolution supports Kyiv's territorial integrity and condemns Moscow, marking a potential clear shift by Ukraine's strongest Western ally.

The draft UN General Assembly resolution, seen by Reuters, condemns Russia's military operation in Ukraine and reaffirms commitment to "the sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.

One of the sources, who, along with the other two sources, requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter, said, "In past years, the United States has consistently participated in adopting such resolutions in support of a just peace in Ukraine.

The same diplomatic source told Reuters that more than 50 countries are adopting the resolution, without specifying them. The U.S. mission to the United Nations in Geneva has not yet responded to a request for comment.

Russia has controlled about 20% of Ukraine's territory and is slowly but steadily advancing towards gaining more ground in the eastern part of the country.
