Israeli Army Withdraws from Border Villages in Lebanon and Remains in 5 Points

In the early hours of Tuesday, Israeli forces withdrew from 9 Lebanese villages while maintaining their presence in 5 key points along the southern border of Lebanon.

According to Lebanon's official National News Agency, the forces withdrew at dawn from "the villages and towns they were occupying in the south, namely Yaron, Maroun al-Ras, Blida, Mais al-Jabal, Houla, Markaba, al-Adaisah, Kfarkela, and al-Wazzani.

The agency added that Israel kept its presence "in 5 key points along the border.

Sources reported that the Lebanese army is completing its deployment in several border villages and towns in the south of the country on Tuesday, with army personnel and vehicles entering the towns from which Israeli forces withdrew.

In parallel, engineering teams of the Lebanese army are conducting surveys and inspections of the areas from which Israeli forces withdrew, and "their soldiers occasionally continued to carry out demolition and explosion operations on many houses in the towns of al-Adaisah and Kfarkela before their withdrawal."

The municipalities of Houla, Kfarkela, and Maroun al-Ras issued statements urging residents to adhere to the instructions that will be issued in successive statements to ensure their safety before returning to their towns.

Residents of the towns of Mais al-Jabal and Blida are expected to begin returning gradually starting Tuesday morning, while residents of the towns of al-Adaisah, Houla, and Kfarkela are expected to return on Wednesday.
