According to the executive order, "The United States will impose significant consequences on those responsible for overreaches by the International Criminal Court, which may include asset and property freezes, as well as suspension of entry into the United States for ICC officials and staff, as well as their immediate family members, as their entry into our nation would be detrimental to U.S. interests.

This move aims to penalize the ICC for issuing arrest warrants against senior Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant.

Republicans in the Senate attempted to pass legislation that would impose sanctions on the ICC, but they were unable to overcome opposition from the Democrats.
