American billionaire Elon Musk stated in a post on his "X" account that Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass prioritizes politics over the need to help people amid the raging fires in the city.

According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail," Bass had called for a $49 million budget cut for the fire department less than a week before the massive wildfires broke out, which included the closure of 16 fire stations.

The wildfires, which began in Los Angeles County on January 7, are the largest in U.S. history. According to authorities, the total area of the fires exceeded 16,000 hectares, with at least 27 people killed and more than 12,300 buildings destroyed, including celebrity homes. Meteorologists indicated that dry and windy weather caused the rapid spread of the fire.
