The Ministry of Interior confirmed today, Monday, that the Iraqi-Syrian borders are the best secured, pointing out the presence of rapid response units and the Federal Police Command there.
In a press conference, the ministry's spokesperson, Brigadier General Moqdad Miri, stated that "the events in the regional area have become the talk of the Iraqi public, and the purpose of this conference is to reassure the public after rumors that security is at risk and that the borders are not secured.
He pointed out that "3,813 kilometers of the Iraqi borders have been secured," confirming that "the borders with Syria are more secure than the rest of the neighboring countries' borders.
He emphasized that "border penetration is absolutely impossible due to the fortifications and military units present on the Iraqi-Syrian borders.
Brigadier General Miri added that "the borders with Syria are fully secured by two brigades from the Border Forces Command, in addition to support from the army and the Popular Mobilization Forces," explaining that "the Ministry of Interior has sent rapid response units and the Federal Police Command there."
