Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri announced that a session will be held on January 9 to elect a new president for the republic.

This call comes just hours after the ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel.

At the beginning of a legislative session held today to extend the terms of security leaders, including Army Commander General Joseph Aoun, Speaker Nabih Berri clarified that a session will be held on January 9, 2025, to elect a president for the republic.
