The Independent High Electoral Commission announced the closure of the electoral appeals in the Kurdistan Region with a total of 41 appeals, distributed across the provinces of Sulaymaniyah (25 appeals), Erbil (12 appeals), Duhok (3 appeals), and Halabja (2 appeals). The review of the appeals takes 17 days, divided into 7 days for the commission to prepare responses and 10 days for the judicial authority to decide on them, in accordance with Commission Law No. 13 of 2019.
The final results of the sixth session of the Kurdistan Parliament elections came out, with a participation rate of 72%. In the province of Sulaymaniyah, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan topped the list with 15 seats, followed by the New Generation with 8 seats and the Kurdistan Democratic Party with 3 seats, while the remaining seats were distributed among the Kurdistan Islamic Union, the Justice Group, and other lists.
As for Duhok, the Kurdistan Democratic Party won 18 out of 25 seats, while the New Generation and the Kurdistan Islamic Union each secured two seats, with the remaining seats distributed among other lists. In Erbil, the Kurdistan Democratic Party secured 17 out of 34 seats, followed by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan with 6 seats and the New Generation Party with 5 seats, with additional seats distributed among other parties and components.
The results of Halabja granted one seat each to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, the Kurdistan Islamic Union, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
