The Civil Defense Directorate announced today, Monday, that the shadow warehouses have been identified for their violations of legal regulations, noting that these warehouses have witnessed several fires due to significant negligence in applying safety and precautionary measures.
The director of the directorate's media, Brigadier Rahman Hussein Mahdi, said: "The fire spread to several warehouses in the shade because those warehouses are adjacent to each other and are constructed from sandwich panels that violate regulations and are highly flammable."
He added that "the warehouses contain various goods, including refrigeration gas cylinders," pointing out that "the Civil Defense Directorate requested an investigation and the presence of a forensic expert to determine the cause of the incident, as all these warehouses have been identified for violating the Civil Defense Law No. 44 of 2013. Additionally, these warehouses have experienced multiple fires due to significant negligence in implementing safety and prevention requirements."
