The Iraqi National Security Advisor, Qassem Al-Araji, confirmed that Iraq has achieved great success in eradicating terrorism, noting that the country is now free of the terrorist groups that once threatened security and stability. This came during statements made by Al-Araji in a press interview, where he emphasized that the state is striving hard to ensure the sustainability of security and its success in all regions of the country.
Al-Araji added that the Iraqi government enjoys the strength and solidity of its institutions and that these institutions work to enhance social cohesion among all segments of the Iraqi people. He confirmed that the state is striving to implement the largest community integration operation in its history, specifically concerning the returnees from the Al-Hol camp, which housed a large number of families affected by armed conflicts.
Al-Araji pointed out that the government has so far succeeded in returning more than 2,000 families to their original areas after providing the necessary rehabilitation for them, confirming that the remaining number is about 600 families only, which are currently undergoing comprehensive rehabilitation programs to ensure their peaceful integration into society.
The National Security Advisor also touched upon the importance of monitoring social media platforms that are used to spread discord and division among Iraqis. He emphasized the necessity of combating these phenomena that seek to undermine national unity and dismantle the social fabric.
Al-Araji concluded his speech by affirming that the government continues its efforts to enhance security and stability, with a focus on building a cohesive and strong society capable of facing challenges and achieving a prosperous future for Iraq and its people.
