The general voting process for the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections began this morning, Sunday (October 20, 2024).
The correspondent for "Al-Awla" reported that polling stations have opened their doors to welcome voters to cast their ballots in the general election for the Kurdistan Parliament.
It is worth mentioning that the Independent High Electoral Commission announced yesterday, Saturday, the final report on the closure of the special polling in the Kurdistan Region elections.
According to the report issued by the Commission, which was received by "Al-Awla," "according to the procedures of the special voting process for the election of the Kurdistan Region Parliament of Iraq for its sixth term in 2024, the polling stations spread within and outside the provinces of the region and other provinces were closed, and the electoral process continued until the closing of the ballot boxes smoothly and without any significant security violations.
The commission confirmed that there were 215,960 voters in the special voting, out of which 208,521 cast ballots.
