The Independent High Electoral Commission confirmed today, Saturday, its readiness to conduct the general voting for the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections, denying all rumors regarding the secrecy of the ballot for all voters in both special and general voting.
The Commission stated in a statement received by "Al-Aula" that it is "ready to conduct the general voting for the Kurdistan Region Parliament elections 2024 for its sixth term on 2024/10/20," denying all rumors related to the secrecy of the ballot for all voters in both private and public voting.
She added that "the voter's choice in the right to vote is secret and, under no circumstances, can the voter's vote in the polling devices be known to any party, including the commission and its staff.
The Commission urged candidates, parties, and alliances to "adhere to the electoral silence and refrain from anything that could disrupt the electoral process," calling on voters to "comply with the Commission's regulations by not bringing and using mobile phones and cameras inside polling centers.
