The Independent High Electoral Commission confirmed that the special voting process for the Kurdistan Region Parliament elections is proceeding smoothly, while noting that a plan has been put in place to transfer the ballot boxes to the main warehouses.
The head of the media team at the commission, Imad Jamil, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The voting process is ongoing, and there is significant organization and discipline from the security forces participating in the elections," noting that "coordination with security leaders has achieved organization in the special voting process by ensuring that military units did not attend at the same time but arrived at staggered intervals.
He pointed out that "no malfunctions have been recorded for any devices, and all voters are committed to bringing the required documents, with no violations so far," noting that "there is intense local and international monitoring in the Kurdistan Parliament elections.
Jamil explained that "the polling centers and stations were determined based on the locations of the security forces to facilitate the movement of voters to the polling centers, and in the event of any breach, it will be identified and addressed.
He explained that "the entry of mobile phones into the polling center has been prohibited, and any voter carrying a mobile phone inside the polling centers without permission will be held accountable," pointing out that "journalists and observers have been prohibited from bringing mobile phones inside the station, and they are only allowed to carry them within the center.
Jamil confirmed that "there will be no extension under any circumstances, and the devices are programmed to stop at six in the evening," pointing out that "a logistical and security plan has been put in place to transport the ballot boxes from the centers to the warehouses of the provincial offices."
