Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met today, Thursday, with a delegation from the Russian oil company Lukoil and discussed aspects of cooperation with the company and its ongoing projects in Iraq.
The Prime Minister listened to a briefing on the company's operations at the West Qurna 2 and Arido oil fields and the progress of work.
Al-Sudani confirmed that the government gives high priority to developing the oil industry and production capacities in Iraq, emphasizing the importance of implementing development projects to maximize revenues, especially in transitioning to the production of oil derivatives and various petrochemicals, supported by the strong and extensive infrastructure of the Iraqi oil sector, particularly in the extraction field.
