An informed source revealed today, Friday, October 18, 2024, the numbers and distribution of polling stations for the Kurdistan elections.
The source told "Al-Awla" that "Erbil hosts the largest number of polling stations with 61 electoral centers and 306 polling stations," noting that "Sulaymaniyah comes in second with 57 electoral centers and 276 polling stations.
He added that "Duhok Governorate comes in third place with 33 polling centers and 142 voting stations, while Halabja Governorate ranks fourth with one polling center and three voting stations.
The source added that "in Baghdad, there are three electoral centers, and 11 polling stations distributed with one electoral center and three polling stations on the eastern side, while there are two electoral centers and eight polling stations on the western side.
He explained that "there are 4 electoral centers and 5 polling stations in Nineveh, while Kirkuk has one electoral center and two polling stations," noting that "the provinces of Diyala, Anbar, and Wasit each have one electoral center and one polling station.

The "Al-Awla" correspondent reported that polling stations are witnessing a high turnout as the voting process began at 7 AM in 165 polling centers and will end at 6 PM according to the schedule set by the Election Commission.
He added that more than 89,000 military and security personnel are participating in these elections in the city of Erbil.
