His Excellency the President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the Baghdad Palace, the Chairman of the National Investment Commission, Dr. Haidar Mohammed Makki.
During the meeting, the state of investment in Iraq and mechanisms to enhance confidence in the local investment environment were discussed. His Excellency the President of the Republic emphasized the necessity of diversifying investment in strategic projects and infrastructure projects.

Calling for the expansion of investment plans towards the industrial and agricultural sectors and contributing to the development of the national economy by cooperating with reputable specialized investment companies, and for the authority to play an active and influential role in supporting and encouraging the private sector, and to establish a strategic housing policy that considers low-income individuals and aligns with their purchasing power.

For his part, the Chairman of the Investment Authority reviewed the Authority's future work plans and available investment opportunities, appreciating the directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic and his vision for developing the Authority's role and enhancing its performance.
