The Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, confirmed today, Wednesday, that the situation regarding infrastructure projects in Diyala Governorate is promising and they are proceeding as planned.
Al-Sudani held a meeting for the heads of departments and service formations in Diyala Governorate, attended by the Ministers of Health and Construction and Housing, the Governor of Diyala and its Council Chairman, the General Coordinator for Provincial Affairs, and several advisors and government officials.
He listened to a briefing from all the esteemed directors regarding the service reality in the governorate in various sectors, as well as an overview of the investment situation, school buildings, and infrastructure, the projects currently being implemented, and future projects.
Al-Sudani confirmed that "monitoring important projects through field visits to the provinces is a practiced approach to assess the implementation rates and the main problems and obstacles, emphasizing the commitment to the principle of working in a spirit of teamwork between the federal government and the local governments, which are considered the second executive arm of the government after the ministries
The Prime Minister stated that "the government has provided financial allocations and support and has prioritized stalled projects for several years. The situation regarding infrastructure projects in Diyala Governorate is promising, and they are proceeding as planned. He emphasized that infrastructure is the cornerstone for the launch of projects, as well as being one of the most important components of stability, and this is what is being focused on in all governorates
He announced the inclusion of a group of new projects in several districts and sub-districts of Diyala, within the allocations of the province or the ministries, in addition to the infrastructure projects adopted by the government, as an appreciation for this province, which represents a miniature Iraq with its diverse spectrums, alongside the scale of sacrifices it made in resisting dictatorship and terrorism.
