Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani expressed deep concern over the region entering a difficult and highly dangerous phase, warning of the repercussions of escalating tensions since the events of October 7, 2023, amid the international community's inability to effectively address developments. Al-Sudani emphasized that Iraq had repeatedly warned of the dangers of slipping into this phase.
In new statements, al-Sudani mentioned Iraq's continued intensive communications with neighboring and friendly countries in an effort to find a unified regional and international stance aimed at stopping the war on Lebanon. He also stressed the importance of safeguarding the interests of the Iraqi people during this difficult time, highlighting the necessity of avoiding Iraq's involvement in the conflict.
Regarding Iraq's humanitarian stance, al-Sudani affirmed his country's commitment to continue providing humanitarian assistance to its brethren in Lebanon and Palestine, in line with Iraq's role in supporting Arab and regional causes.
