On Monday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani conducted a phone call with the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, during which he reiterated his condolences to Lebanon for the martyrdom of the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and his companions.
The phone call included discussions on the latest developments in the region and the Arab, regional, and international efforts being made to stop the brutal Israeli aggression against brotherly Lebanon and the genocide being perpetrated in Gaza.
Mr. al-Sudani affirmed Iraq's support for these efforts and for anything that could halt the war and establish security and stability in the region. He reiterated his commitment to supporting the Lebanese people in their resilience and hardships, using all humanitarian and service means available to help them overcome the effects of war and destruction, and to strengthen their unity in the face of dangers and aggression.
He emphasized the importance of the international community fulfilling its humanitarian and legal responsibilities to prevent the continuation of aggression, as well as the role of international organizations and major countries in preserving and protecting the lives of people.
