The Libyan Center for Remote Sensing and Space Science announced today, Monday, the detection of marine pollution near the city of Misrata, where an oil leak was observed in the Mediterranean Sea.
According to reports from the center, the area of marine pollution has exceeded 7 square kilometers. It is believed that the cause of the leak may be related to an oil platform or a ship. Investigations are currently underway to determine the exact source of the leak and assess the potential environmental damage.
