The head of the Diwan of Christian Yezidi and Mandaean Endowments received the Archbishop of the Anglican Church to enhance mutual cooperation.

On Thursday, September 19, 2024, Dr. Rami Joseph Agajan, the head of the Diwan of Christian, Yezidi, and Mandaean Endowments, received Archbishop Sean Symbel of the Anglican Church in Cyprus and the Gulf, along with his accompanying delegation, in an official visit aimed at strengthening cooperation and communication between the two parties.


At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Agajan welcomed Archbishop Symbel and expressed his appreciation for his efforts to promote dialogue between the church and governmental institutions. Both sides emphasized the importance of joint work to build a community based on peace, love, and mutual respect.


The meeting discussed a range of issues of common interest, including initiatives supported by the Diwan that focus on assisting vulnerable groups. They also addressed ways to enhance cooperation between the Anglican Church and government entities through ongoing coordination with the Diwan.


At the conclusion of the meeting, commemorative gifts were exchanged, with the head of the Diwan presenting a gift to Archbishop Symbel as a token of appreciation for the visit. For his part, the Archbishop expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and affirmed the significance of the strong relations between the church and the Diwan.


This visit comes as part of the Diwan's commitment to actively engage in issues that unite various religious components, aiming to promote values of peace and coexistence. The meeting was attended by the religious and cultural advisor, Mr. Dasan Suleiman Safou.
