On Thursday, September 19, 2024, His Excellency President Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received the athletes who won various medals and achieved top positions in the Paralympic Games in Paris at the Palace of Peace in Baghdad. The meeting was attended by His Excellency Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ahmed Al-Mubrak, President of the Iraqi Olympic Committee Dr. Aqeel Muftin, and President of the Paralympic Committee Dr. Aqeel Hamid Awda.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President warmly welcomed the champion athletes and congratulated them on the significant achievements they accomplished at the Paralympic Games, raising Iraq's name high in international sports arenas, making them a source of pride for all Iraqis.

The President emphasized that the champion athletes displayed remarkable courage and determination under various circumstances, noting that athlete Najla Imad delivered a powerful blow to terrorism by overcoming her challenges to win the gold medal, reflecting the strength and bravery of Iraqi women. He also recognized the other athletes who achieved outstanding results, bringing joy to the hearts of Iraqis. His Excellency honored the champion athletes.
