The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee emphasized today, Thursday, the importance of diversifying the sources of armament for the Iraqi army and being open to all countries to develop air defenses, noting that Iraq is keeping pace with global military developments.

Committee member Mahdi Taqi Amrli stated that "one of the important priorities is to equip the army with the best types of weapons, especially after specific financial allocations were made for armament, including anti-aircraft systems, advanced radars, aircraft, and advanced detection weapons."

He affirmed that "the committee has called for diversifying sources of weapons and not relying on a single country or camp for armament, as there is a need to open up to all countries to develop air defenses, ground weapons, and radars."

He added that "Iraq is in a phase of continuously developing its armaments and is keeping up with all global developments in various military fields."
