Dr. Rami Joseph Aghajan, President of the Diwan of Christian, Yazidi, and Mandaean Endowments, took part in the prayer gathering called for by the Council of Christian Church Leaders in Iraq for the peace of the entire world, held on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
The event took place at the Cathedral of Saint Mary, Anba Bola, and Anba Antonios of the Coptic Orthodox Church, with notable attendance from church leaders, ambassadors, diplomats, several general directors, the assistant director general for Christian affairs at the Diwan, and a large number of believers.

The gathering included prayers and spiritual hymns performed by participating church choirs, along with readings from the Holy Bible. His Excellency embodied the spirit of faith-based unity through his active participation in the program, delivering a reading from the Epistle of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Philippians. Through his presence and support, he emphasized the Diwan’s pivotal role in sponsoring events that bring together different denominations under one roof to strengthen the values of love and peace and to reinforce spiritual and national bonds among the Christian community in Iraq.

In his statement, he affirmed that this spiritual assembly reflects both faith and national cohesion, noting that “lifting our hearts in prayer is the true strength we need to face the challenges of our time and spread reassurance.” He also stressed the Diwan’s commitment to supporting the churches in their noble mission of serving believers and enhancing the authentic Christian presence in the land of Mesopotamia as a source of stability and peace.
