French President Emmanuel Macron called on Israel and Iran not to drag Lebanon into the conflict, and he pledged that France would provide military support to the Lebanese Army. The region has witnessed an escalation after Israel launched extensive strikes in southern Lebanon in response to attacks carried out by Hezbollah, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians and the displacement of thousands.

The Lebanese government has imposed a ban on the group’s military activities, but Hezbollah continues to launch attacks on Israel. The party’s secretary-general denied any involvement in the U.S.–Israeli attack on Iran.
