Araqchi: Reaching an agreement is now imminent.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced that ongoing talks with the United States are progressing positively and indicate that an agreement is close. He revealed that technical discussions will begin in Vienna next Monday. He also noted progress on the sanctions and nuclear files, stressing Iran’s rejection of transferring nuclear materials outside the country and its insistence on lifting sanctions. The talks took place amid fears of a potential war in the Middle East.

The senior Iranian diplomat told Iranian state television that technical negotiations will begin in Vienna next Monday, emphasizing that reaching an agreement has become imminent.

Araqchi added that Thursday’s talks with the United States were the most serious so far, as both sides engaged in detailed discussions of the agreement’s provisions.

He explained that the negotiations achieved several positive points regarding the sanctions and nuclear issues.

These talks come while the decades‑long dispute over Iran’s nuclear program remains unresolved, amid growing concerns about the possibility of war in the Middle East, especially after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened military action if no agreement is reached and after the U.S. increased its military presence in the region.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi headed the Iranian delegation, while the United States was represented by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the son‑in‑law of President Donald Trump.
