Trump opened his speech with a triumphant assessment of his first year back in the White House, declaring, "This is America’s golden age.”

He added:

“Today, our borders have become secure, and the economy is rebounding in an unprecedented way.”

He continued:

“Tonight, I call for the full and immediate restoration of funding for U.S. border security and homeland security.”

Trump also stated:

“We have received more than 80 million barrels of Venezuelan oil.”

“I secured commitments of more than 18 trillion dollars within 12 months, flowing in from all around the world.”

He concluded by noting:

“Washington, D.C. is now one of the safest cities in the United States.”
