Iran has announced its readiness to negotiate with the United States over enriching uranium to 60%, on the condition that Washington shows seriousness in lifting economic sanctions. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was dispatched to Geneva for a new round of nuclear negotiations. Meanwhile, Iranian officials hinted at the possibility of responding to the U.S. military buildup in the region, stressing that nuclear inspections could even take place daily. They also emphasized that the negotiations concern only the nuclear file and have nothing to do with the missile program.
Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said that Iran is “ready to negotiate uranium enrichment at 60%, provided there is serious negotiation on lifting sanctions,” warning that the deployment of 40,000 U.S. troops in Gulf states and the Arabian Sea “will make the game different.”
He noted that the number of U.S. troops deployed in the region exceeds 40,000, spread across bases in Gulf countries and the Arabian Sea. He warned that this deployment, “if considered an existential threat, will be met with an appropriate Iranian response,” adding that “U.S. bases in the region are legitimate targets in the event of any attack.” He continued, "If any attack occurs, the game will be completely different.”
