Erdogan: We reject declaring war on Iran.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan affirmed Ankara’s rejection of any military intervention against Iran, stressing the need to continue diplomatic talks between Washington and Tehran to reduce tensions and avoid igniting a new conflict in the region. His remarks came in response to the current tensions between the United States and Iran.

Erdoğan said that Turkey is doing everything it can to prevent the region from sliding into a new conflict and chaos, noting that his country opposes any military action against Iran.

He added, “So far, I see that both sides want to leave room for diplomacy, and this is a positive development. The solution to problems is not conflict, but finding common ground and negotiating.”

He emphasized the importance of Washington and Tehran holding talks to ease tensions, expressing hope that issues can be resolved through dialogue and that no new conflict will erupt in the region.

He concluded, “We will work to strengthen the basis for negotiations through diplomacy at the leadership level and through talks at other levels. We will see how far this groundwork can expand and whether other countries will participate.”
