Negotiations with Tehran are opened by Washington.

A senior U.S. official revealed that the Trump administration has informed Iran through multiple channels that it is open to negotiations. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that the efforts of “friendly countries” are helping build trust, describing them as fruitful. Meanwhile, White House officials clarified that President Donald Trump has not made a final decision regarding striking Iran and remains open to a diplomatic solution.

A senior U.S. official said on Sunday that the administration of President Donald Trump had informed Iran through several channels that it is open to holding a meeting to negotiate an agreement.

The official told Axios that Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar are working to organize a meeting this week in Ankara between Steve Witkoff, the U.S. envoy to the White House, and senior Iranian officials.

Sources added that Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey have been speaking to both sides and coordinating their efforts.

For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said earlier that “friendly countriesare ” trying to build trust between the United States and Iran, describing these efforts as “productive.”

He added, “I see the possibility of another round of talks if the U.S. negotiating teams follow what President Trump has said: reaching a fair and equitable agreement to ensure there are no nuclear weapons.”

White House officials explained that Trump has not made a final decision regarding a strike on Iran and remains open to a diplomatic resolution.

They added that the president’s recent statements about negotiations are not merely a bluff, but the United States does not know whether Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei will agree to a deal acceptable to Washington.
