U.S. President Donald Trump announced that another American fleet is heading toward Iran, expressing hope that these moves would lead to a deal with Tehran. Sources reported that Iran is seeking dialogue after the arrival of U.S. military reinforcements in the region. Any agreement, however, must include the removal of enriched uranium, halting missile development, and changing Iran’s regional policies. At the same time, the option of a military strike against Iran remains on the table, though no final decision has been made.
On Wednesday, Trump stated, “Another American fleet is now sailing toward Iran,” voicing optimism that these actions could result in a deal. This statement follows earlier remarks he made on Monday, when he said that Iran “knows the conditions of the United States” for dialogue between Washington and Tehran.
Axios quoted Trump as saying, “Iran wants an agreement with the arrival of the American fleet to the Middle East. They want to make a deal… They have contacted us on several occasions; they want to talk.”
Trump added that the United States has “a massive fleet next to Iran,” stressing that Tehran understands Washington’s conditions for any negotiations.
In this context, the United States has deployed significant military reinforcements to the Middle East, which Trump described as an “armada,” justifying the move as an effort to prevent the region from sliding into a wider war.
The deployment included the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln accompanied by three missile destroyers, advanced fighter jets, and additional air defense systems, while the Pentagon intensified consultations with regional allies.
According to American reports, these military positions reflect Washington’s concern about losing control of the escalation, though Trump insisted that military pressure has pushed Tehran to seek negotiations and a deal.
Axios also cited U.S. officials saying that any agreement with Iran must involve eliminating enriched uranium, halting long-range missile programs, changing Iran’s policy of supporting regional proxies, and banning independent uranium enrichment inside the country.
Meanwhile, White House officials clarified that the option of striking Iran “remains on the table,” though informed sources noted that Trump has not yet made a final decision and may hold further consultations later this week.
