Iran Announces Full Control Over the Strait of Hormuz.

The deputy commander of the naval forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Ali Reza Tangsiri, declared that Tehran has full control over the Strait of Hormuz—covering the airspace, the surface of the sea, and beneath it. He added that Iran manages the passage intelligently and makes decisions on ship movements based on its security interests. Tangsiri also emphasized Iran’s complete readiness for any potential confrontation, stating there would be no retreat.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that an American fleet is heading toward Iran, expressing hope that these moves could lead to a deal.

On Wednesday, Tangsiri reiterated that Iran has full control over the air, surface, and underwater domains of the Strait of Hormuz. He said the security of this strategic passage is directly tied to Tehran’s decisions, noting that Iran receives real-time, precise information from the air, the sea surface, and beneath the waters of the strait.

He added that Iran’s supervision of the passage has become comprehensive and continuous, enabling the monitoring of all movements without exception. Tangsiri stressed that Iran does not seek war but is at the highest level of readiness. In the event of a confrontation, he said, there would be no retreat, “not even by a millimeter,” and Iran would continue advancing steadily.

He explained that the management of the Strait of Hormuz has moved beyond its traditional framework and has become fully intelligent, with Iran maintaining real-time and complete oversight of all maritime movements, both on the surface and underwater.

Tangsiri continued by saying that the decision to allow or block the passage of ships—regardless of the flags they fly—is under Iran’s full control, in line with what it deems appropriate for its security and strategic interests.

He noted that neighboring countries are considered friendly, but warned that if their territories, airspace, or waters are used against Iran, they would be treated as hostile states. He confirmed that this message has been clearly conveyed to regional parties.

Earlier on Wednesday, President Donald Trump announced that “another American fleet is now sailing toward Iran,” expressing hope that these moves would result in a deal.
