Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei responded to U.S. President Donald Trump’s threats by portraying him as an arrogant and tyrannical ruler, vowing that he would fall just as past despots have. Khamenei shared an image depicting a shattered statue of Trump styled as an ancient pharaoh, accompanied by a caption likening his downfall to that of Pharaoh and Nimrod.
Khamenei expressed his stance through the image, showing Trump as a broken pharaonic figure. In a caption written in Persian, he stated:
"That arrogant father who sits there arrogantly and judges the whole world should know that tyrants and arrogant rulers like Pharaoh, Nimrod, Reza Khan, Mohammad Reza, and others usually fall at the height of their arrogance — and he too will fall, like Pharaoh."
This response comes amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington, following repeated threats from Trump to take “very strong options” against Iran. These threats were made in the context of Iran’s harsh crackdown on widespread public protests over deteriorating economic and living conditions, which have evolved into politically charged demonstrations against the regime.
