The president of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Asif Ali Zardari, arrived in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on the evening of Saturday, December 20, 2025, for an official visit to the country.

A formal reception ceremony is scheduled for Sunday at Baghdad Palace, followed by bilateral talks between President Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid and President Zardari. These will be followed by expanded discussions between the Iraqi and Pakistani delegations.

President Zardari was received at Baghdad International Airport by Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities Dr. Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, who heads the honorary delegation, along with several senior officials from the Presidency.
