Morocco was crowned champion of the Arab Cup after a thrilling 3-2 win over Jordan in the final match of the tournament, which was hosted in Qatar over 18 days.
The final took place at Lusail Stadium in Doha, kicking off at 7 p.m. local time.
Morocco took the lead in the first half with a stunning long-range goal by Osama Tannane in the 4th minute, capitalizing on the Jordanian goalkeeper’s advanced position.
In the second half, Jordan equalized with a beautiful header by Ali Alwan in the 48th minute. Alwan then scored again from the penalty spot in the 68th minute, putting Jordan ahead.
However, Morocco responded in the 87th minute with a goal from Abderrazak Hamdallah, sending the match into extra time after a dramatic 2-2 draw in regulation.
In the 100th minute, Hamdallah struck again, scoring Morocco’s third goal and securing the title in a marathon final.
