The Iraqi Drilling Company announced on Monday the successful completion of drilling an oil well in the North Rumaila oil field, reaching a depth of 2,606 meters.

In a statement, the company said, “The technical and engineering teams at the Iraqi Drilling Company have completed the drilling of well R-859 in the North Rumaila field for Halliburton, using the IDC-59 drilling rig, reaching a depth of 2,606 meters as part of the approved operational program.”

The company’s Director General, Hassan Mohammed Hassan, stated that “this achievement is part of a series of successes the company is realizing across various work sites, reflecting the continuous efforts of national staff in executing drilling operations with high efficiency.”

He affirmed that “the company remains committed to supporting plans for developing oil fields and boosting production capacity, while fully adhering to safety and quality standards and the designated timeline.”
