Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Thursday that the understanding between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) is an important factor for regional stability.

Speaking to reporters aboard his plane on the way back from a visit to Turkmenistan, Erdogan said, “The March 10 agreement between the Syrian government and the SDF is a decisive path for the future of the region, and Syria stands to benefit the most from it.”

He emphasized, “The March 10 understanding is a crucial step for the region’s future, and Syria is the primary beneficiary.”

He added, “We want prosperity for all Syrians—Turkmen, Arabs, Kurds, Sunnis, and Alawites alike—and the March 10 agreement reinforces this vision.”
