Iraq Becomes Second-Largest Oil Exporter to the U.S. Last Week.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced on Sunday that Iraq ranked second among the top crude oil exporters to the United States last week.

According to statistics reviewed by Shafaq News Agency, U.S. crude oil imports from nine major countries averaged 4.877 million barrels per day (bpd), a decrease of 815,000 bpd from the previous week’s 5.692 million bpd.

Iraq’s oil exports to the U.S. reached 435,000 bpd, an increase of 149,000 bpd from the previous week’s 378,000 bpd, placing Iraq second on the list of top exporters.

The EIA noted that the highest oil imports to the U.S. last week came from Canada at 3.448 million bpd, followed by Saudi Arabia with 348,000 bpd, Brazil with 137,000 bpd, and Mexico with 131,000 bpd.

According to the report, imports from Venezuela stood at 122,000 bpd, while Libya and Ecuador each supplied 87,000 bpd, and Nigeria 82,000 bpd. The U.S. did not import any oil from Colombia during the same week.

The U.S. consumes approximately 20 million barrels of oil per day, making it the world’s largest oil consumer. It relies on these ten countries for the majority of its crude oil and petroleum product supplies.
